Top Pickleball Courts in Scottsdale: Where to Play in 2026
Share
Scottsdale players have a schedule nobody else understands. Summer games start before sunrise. Winter games start whenever you want, because it is 72 degrees and sunny. Somewhere in between, half the city decided pickleball was the main event and golf was the backup plan.

Whether you live here, winter here or just landed for a long weekend, here are the best pickleball courts in Scottsdale, sorted by the kind of day you want to have.
Free City Parks: Where the Regulars Play
Scottsdale Parks and Recreation runs free, lighted, drop in courts across the city. No reservations, first come first served, and open from sunrise to 10:30 PM. When it is busy, games go to 11 and there is a 30 minute limit, so everyone rotates.

- Horizon Park (North Scottsdale): 10 lighted courts and often called the social hub of Scottsdale pickleball. Weekend mornings are lively and competitive.
- Cholla Park (North Scottsdale): 8 lighted courts in a desert setting, with informal round robins on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Great lighting for evening play.
- Ashler Hills Park (Far North Scottsdale): 8 lighted courts at the city's newest and northernmost park. Shade is still growing in, so mornings are your friend.
- Scottsdale Community College: 6 lighted courts, free to the public through a city partnership. Open 6 AM to 8 PM, except holidays and when college classes are on court.
- Thompson Peak Park (North Scottsdale): 3 courts that got fresh surfaces this fall. A quieter spot for drills and relaxed games.
- Scottsdale Ranch Park and Chaparral Park: smaller court groups with mountain or lake views, good for a casual hit close to the center of town.
The Mountain View Bonus

Play enough in North Scottsdale and you will notice something. Every missed dink comes with a view of the McDowell Mountains. It does not help your score, but it does make losing a lot more pleasant.
Indoor Clubs: For the Hot Months
From June to September, outdoor play is a sunrise sport. When the afternoon hits triple digits, the indoor clubs keep the game going in full air conditioning.
- Center Court Pickleball, Scottsdale Shea (near Shea and the Loop 101): 13 indoor courts, open daily from 6 AM to 10 PM, with open play every morning and evening.
- Center Court Pickleball, Scottsdale Mayo (North Scottsdale): 12 indoor courts with leagues, clinics and member play.
- The Picklr Cave Creek (North Scottsdale Road): 8 dedicated indoor courts, open early until late every day.
- The Orchard (near Pima Center Parkway): a smaller air conditioned club, popular for private groups and events.
Membership and guest pass options vary by club, so check before you go.
Social Spots: Pickleball Plus a Plan for After

Scottsdale knows how to turn a game into a night out.
- Pickle and Social Scottsdale: 9 indoor climate controlled courts and 3 outdoor courts, plus craft food, signature drinks and live entertainment. Book a court, bring the group and stay for dinner.
- Make it a weekend: pair a morning session at Horizon or Cholla with brunch in Old Town. Very Scottsdale, very court to life.
A Few Tips Before You Go

- Play early or late in summer: courts are lighted until 10:30 PM for a reason. Midday is for the pool.
- Bring more water than you think: desert air is dry and you will feel it by game two.
- Respect the rotation: at busy parks, games go to 11 and the 30 minute limit is real. Put your paddle in line and wait your turn.
- Know the season: winter visitors fill the courts from about November to April, so mornings get busy. Arrive early or try the indoor clubs.
- Wear sunscreen, even in October: the Arizona sun does not take days off.
