Our Approach to Sustainability
At Courtelane, we believe a more responsible apparel industry begins with producing thoughtfully, not simply producing more.
Our approach is inspired by lean supply chain principles: demand led production, balanced production runs, lower inventory, reduced storage, and carefully planned logistics. By aligning production more closely with customer demand, our goal is to reduce overproduction and avoid unnecessary waste.
Thoughtful Production
We aim to make deliberate production decisions through smaller and balanced production runs, demand based inventory planning, reduced excess stock, efficient storage and more intentional logistics planning.
We recognize that sustainability is not defined by one material or one initiative. It requires continuous improvement across design, sourcing, production, transportation, garment care and product life.
Our Materials
Our City Series shirts are made from 100% organic, ring spun, combed cotton in a substantial 180 GSM fabric. They are fabric washed and designed to offer comfort, quality and lasting wear.
Our Essentials collection uses blended fabrics selected for comfort, performance, fit and durability. We are transparent that blended fabrics can be more difficult to recycle at the end of a garment’s life. As Courtelane grows, we will continue evaluating materials that can deliver the performance our customers expect with a lower environmental impact.
