OneWhere the court meets the city
I didn’t grow up playing racket sports. Then, in 2022, pickleball opened that world to me.
What pulled me in wasn’t only the game. It was everything around it: the friendships, the easy conversations, the time that kept going long after we left the court.
But something felt missing. The culture was vibrant. The clothing wasn’t.
So I started asking a question I couldn’t let go of. Could pickleball apparel carry the same personality and sense of belonging that makes the sport so special?
That question became Courtelane.
TwoThe name
Courtelane holds two halves of the thing I fell for. The court, where the game happens. The lane, the path you take to get there and the one you walk back out on into the rest of your day.
The letter between them is deliberate. I shaped the name in the French manner, letting a single vowel join the two words into one, the way French naming softens a compound into something that flows. That small “e” is what turns two plain words into a name, and it’s why the brand reads elevated rather than sporty. It was the first design decision I made, and it set the tone for every one that followed.
ThreeTested on the courts of New York City
I had an idea, so I took it to the courts of New York City.
I didn’t come from fashion. I picked up a pencil and started drawing. I studied the market. Mostly, I talked with players, more than 40 of them across three cities, and they told me something I hadn’t expected. They didn’t want another pickleball shirt. They wanted to represent the game they loved and the place they called home.
They did more than like the shirts. They asked where to buy them.
That insight became the Courtelane City Series: designs built around the identity, energy, and culture of America’s pickleball cities.
FourWhy it took four years
I could have put product out in 2023. I didn’t, because every time I went back to the courts I learned something that changed the design. Fit that held up through three games instead of one. Details that read as personality rather than costume. A piece someone would actually keep wearing to lunch afterward.
So I kept going back.
- 2022First game. The sport, and the community around it, pulls me in.
- 2023Applied to trademark the Courtelane name. First sketches, first market research.
- 2024Brought the designs back to real players on real courts.
- Dec 30, 2025Trademark approved.
- Jul 20, 2026Courtelane launches, with the City Series at the heart of the story.
This is more than what we wear to play. This is where the court meets the city. This is Court Culture™.
FiveWhat we make
Those same conversations gave us five collections, each answering something players kept telling us they wanted.
Essentials
The basics done properly. Quiet, well-made pieces that carry a whole season of play without asking for attention.
City Series
Where it started. Designs built around the identity, energy, and culture of America’s pickleball cities, for players who want to represent the place they call home.
Core Collection
The Courtelane signature. Versatile, unmistakably ours, defining how the brand looks and moves.
Court Culture
The life around the game. The friendships, the rituals, the hours that keep going after the last point.
Mindset Collection
What the game does to you. The progress, the small wins, the reason you keep showing up.
Across all five, a Courtelane piece has to meet the same standard: clean and flattering, made to move, durable through repeat wear, inclusive in fit, subtly recognizable rather than loud, and just as natural off the court as on it.
Made for play. Worn for everything else.
SixWhy it matters
Pickleball matters to me because of what I see it doing. It brings people and neighborhoods together across the country. It gives people of every age, background, and skill level a reason to move, connect, laugh, improve, and feel like they belong.
As a founder, I’m proud that Courtelane gets to play a small part in that. We make apparel that helps people show up with more confidence, for movement, for health, for connection, for progress, and for the plain joy the game brings into their lives.
That’s what Courtelane stands for: a modern pickleball culture that feels welcoming, expressive, and connected. Pieces that help you show up ready and stay yourself.
SevenWhat’s next
More of the game’s culture translated into something you can wear. We’re building this alongside the players who shaped it, and that hasn’t changed since the first sketch.
Over time, Courtelane will grow beyond T-shirts into socks, shorts, bags, and other court-to-life essentials, building a thoughtful apparel system for the modern pickleball lifestyle.
